WASTE, PEOPLE
AND REEF HEALTH
Why do we do it?
The mismanagement of solid waste in Islas de la Bahía is without a doubt the current problem, and on which efforts must be redoubled for its control and regulation, since it constitutes a threat to our coastal marine ecosystems and to life. Marine.
Therefore, it is important to raise awareness among the island population, especially from an early age, about this current problem and carry out appropriate management actions from their homes.
What are we doing?
Implemented the “Waste, people and reef healthy” campaign, one of the purposes of which is to raise awareness of the effects of waste on coral reefs and human health, generating data on marine water quality and solid waste, and improving public and private waste management.
