Nikita Johnson
Community Development Coodinator | BICA Roatan
I was born in the community of Pensacola, Roatan, Bay Islands on the coast of Honduras. I grew up with three older brothers and a single mother from whom I learned my love for nature. In 2017, I earned a bachelor's degree in Natural Resources and Environment from the National University of Agriculture in Olancho, Honduras and I returned to Roatan and began working with the Bay Islands Conservation Association(BICA) as an environmental education and community development program assistant. In 2018, I was promoted to Coordinator of the Community Development program, where I had the opportunity to carry out projects in the management of solid and liquid waste, potable water management, environmental conservation and community empowerment.
